Emirates to Fly A380 from Heathrow

Passengers flying from Heathrow to Dubai with Emirates will now have the chance to fly on one of the airline's super jumbo Airbus A380's later this year.

Emirates have announced that the first flight between the two destinations will take off form Dubai on December 1st, an A380 will offer 489 seats with 14 in first class, 76 business class and 399 in economy.

Emirates will begin operating their A380's this year with a non-stop service from Dubai to New York on October 1st. Following on from the start of the Heathrow to Dubai service the airline will launch its Sydney to Auckland route on 1st February 2009. The airline have a over 50 of the Airbus A380s on order, expecting to take delivery of five over the next year. Emirates will become the largest operator of the A380, itself the largest commercial airliner.

Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline stated: "Our customers can rightly anticipate an exhilarating experience on the state-of-the-art aircraft, which will be especially appointed and equipped to Emirates' exciting standards." Clark also went on to state that the airline's inflight features and facilities will be unveiled over the coming months.
