Edinburgh Airport is Scotland's fastest growing airport and caters for over 9 million passengers a year. From its first shuttle service to London in 1947, Edinburgh airport has gone through some significant changes. After fluctuating between military and commercial use, Edinburgh Airport, as we know it today, was opened by the Queen in 1977, the year of her Silver Jubilee.
Between September 2004 and November 2005 £30 million pounds was invested in the airport. Edinburgh Airport Parking now boasts a new multi-storey complex and a state-of-the-art air traffic control tower.
Edinburgh airport is situated approximately 8 miles west of the city and is easily accessible from the M8 motorway.
