Flying activity first began at Exeter Airport in 1937 and the aerodrome played a pivotal role for the military during the Second World War. Since that time Exeter has undergone many significant changes and, in January last year, was taken over by the Regional and City Airports Ltd. In 2005 Exeter Airport reported an overall growth rate of 35% - an amount higher than any other airport in the UK.
Exeter Airport is situated approximately 5 miles east of the city centre and is easily accessible from the M5 motorway, taking Junction 29.
