The Civil Aviation Authority have published the latest five year airport comparison figures which reveal Exeter Airport as one of the fastest growing airports in the UK.
The data from the Civil Aviation Authority show a growth of over 200% from 2002 to 2007 with 1,012 million passengers arriving and departing form Exeter Airport last year. Exeter's five year growth of 200.9% made it the fastest growing airport in the South West with Bristol following at 72.3%. The airport ranked among the top half of the UK airports in terms of passengers for the last year.
Exeter Airport's Deputy Managing Director Jamie Christon stated: "We are delighted that Exeter was the strongest growing airport in the South West. This growth in popularity is a clear indication that the air travellers of the region prefer to use Exeter Airport and are supportive of the airport's expansion."
