  • Mid Stay 1 long stay 3 is now called Med 1 so after a fraught journey down the M1 due to accidents we searched in vain for LS 1 and the contact phone number given does not open until 9am. The map provided was useless as all carparks had new names. Why were we not informed of the change in name. It made a difficult journey even more stressful

  • Mid Stay 1 We didn't mind the 5-7 min walk it was the lack of pedestrian walkways in the carpark. We had to lift cases over the gap between parked cars. Crammed in too many cars not thinking about pedestrians.

  • Mid Stay 1 The carpark is rather a long way from the terminal for there to be no bus. The pavement surface is often rough and unsuitable for pulling a case, and there is not always a ramp to pull cases from road to pavement.

  • Mid Stay 1 There needs to be at least one through fair (path) through the car park so you are not forced to walk around the length of the car park. Other than that the whole experience was effortless!

  • Mid Stay 1 On arrival everything was very smooth HOWEVER the return was disastrous! We arrived at night in the pouring rain. Couldn't get our bearings so asked in BCP office where C.P. 3 was 'Over There" was the vague reply. My husband isyr old and disabled. We wandered around for over mins looking for the carpark, in the end he could walk no more so I set off, on my own, in the dark to find the carpark and bring the car to him - NOT TO BE! On retrieving the car, I drove to the barrier, only to find it didn't recognise our number plate. I pressed the button for assistance - no reply. I tried for about mins then parked the car again and walked back to find my husband. We managed to get to the car by which time we could barely manage to lift the suitcases into the car, drove to the barrier again to retry - again, it didn't open so we tried to back up and drive up again, no joy! EVENTUALLY got an answer on the machine, to be told we 'weren't on their system' I gave them the booking ref and the Reg No. No, not on the system! Well, I was definitely on the system when I paid sixty odd quid to park there!! It took about mins before the barrier lifted, all this time my husband had been stood in the rain as you couldn't hear what was being said if you sat in the car. I realise we didn't choose the nearest Carpark when we booked but the advert made it sound like an easy stroll between the terminal and the carpark - maybe this is so if you can see where you are going but it was horrific in the dark and we will never choose to park there again.

  • Mid Stay 1 It was good that there was number plate recognition at the barrier so we didn't need to have paperwork ready or to wait. There were plenty of spaces available and the walk wasn't too far to the airport. The pavement was quite rough to push suitcases along though.
