When arriving at Stansted Airport, ready to park your car, you will find a range of facilities for people with disabilities.
Below we look at different Stansted parking options that may be suitable.
The on-airport short stay car park features blue and orange badge parking close to the airport terminal. There are also help points and telephones close to parking bays in zones C and D with free assistance to those with special needs, including wheel chair push/provision or help with baggage. Please note there are no blue badge parking spaces in the overflow short stay car park at Stansted.
The Stansted mid-stay car park is around one mile away from the airport building. It has free wheel chair access and coaches suitable for people with disabilities. Blue badge parking spaces are available close to the coach transfer pick-up shelter. All shelters have help buttons.
The long stay car park is four miles away from the airport. There are blue badge parking bays close to the coach transfer shelter; help buttons; and free wheel chair access. You should leave around 45 minutes transfer time to get to the airport.
The Stansted Official Valet Parking at Stansted is one of the most convenient options available for disabled passengers. You simply drive your car to a designated point near the airport, where you will be met by a driver, who will then park your car for you. This leaves you close to the airport with more time to spare. The meet and greet option is ideal for disabled passengers, however, please note that due to health and safety rules, drivers cannot park specially adapted vehicles.
Once you enter the airport you will find good disabled facilities available. These include wide wheelchair access pathways and ramps, accessible telephones, toilet facilities and dedicated seating throughout the Airport. Please contact your airline in advance if you have any special requirements for the flight.
